“Grandfather Stalking Wolf had three quests in life. First was to learn, preserve and pass down the ancient skills of survival, tracking and awareness, Second was to preserve the ancient spiritual wisdom of anyone who lived close to the earth and his final quest was to learn from every philosophy and religion, to seek the common truth, free from the crutches of man. He searched through all the ceremonies, dogmas and traditions of religion and philosophy, stripping away all the confusing camouflage and arriving at a “pure truth”. Tom Brown, Jr. Grandfather, 1993.
We will explore the teachings of Grandfather Stalking Wolf as passed down through the Tracker School and seek to understand these simple yet profound lessons, techniques and exercises so each of us can better incorporate the spiritual teachings into our everyday life. These teachings do not compete or contradict any philosophy or religious teachings but expands upon and seeks to enlighten one to a more usable and profound connection to Earth, Spirit and our deeper self.
We will also be weaving in elements of wilderness survival skills such as fire by friction techniques, tracking, nature awareness, weather and edible and medicinal plants.
There is an ancient saying that goes “Empty your Cup” of your preconceived notions and instead seek to dig deeply into a profound series of exercises meant to re-connect us to the Earth and the spiritual realities, re-invigorate our spiritual path and to enhance awareness and understandings of the worlds of the physical, the Life Force and Spirit.
Items to Bring–a notebook and pen, a chair, blanket or pad, a bandanna or blindfold, edible or medicinal plant field guides, survival skill tools and any and all questions.
