About the Budda Barn
The Buddha Barn saw light up in its loft for the first time in the summer of 2009. Before it became the music and gathering center that it has become, it was a hayloft for the farmer who lived here in the early 1900’s. I remember the day the builder cut the first hole in the roof where one of the skylights was to be. As he peeled the roof off the light streamed in and landed for the first time in over 100 years on the old barn beams and floorboards. It was magical to see the wood shining with sunbeams, illuminating the loft - you could feel the space coming alive.
Today, the barn is home to dozens and dozens of conscious gatherings, talks, lectures, music offerings, yoga practices, kirtan, Halloween parties and now hemp drying practices. The space continues to be a dynamic gathering location and intimate experience for all those who gather here.
